NEW! Sex Pistols Live at The Marquee Club, 12th Feb 1976 🤘🎸

Having heard about the band's antics throughout the punk scene, Neil Spencer of NME attends the band's most riotous early show at the famous Marquee Club in London, and later publishes his piece bringing them mainstream attention with iconic lines such as "Don't look over your shoulder but the Sex Pistols are coming!” And Steve Jones' comment that "Actually, we're not into music, we're into chaos.”

In a pivotal year for the band (Anarchy in the UK was released in November, known to many as Britain's first punk song) this legendary gig descended into chaos while supporting Eddie and the Hot Rods. The crowd was not impressed. "You can’t play," someone heckled. "So what?" replied Sid Vicious as he threw a chair at the PA system during a performance of 'Pretty Vacant'. As the Pistols stormed off stage, they destroyed the Hot Rods' gear and stabbed the PA system with pens and kicked the monitors around. The club banned them from playing again.
